TVE Honors Video Volunteers at BAFTA, London For Its Pandemic Relief Work

Video Volunteers' film 'Fixing India: How Community Media Like Video Volunteers Changed During COVID-19' won the 'Adaptation and Resilience' award at the Global Sustainability Film Awards (GSFA) 2021 held at BAFTA, London on December 6, 2021.

Now in its 10th year, the GSFA recognises and honours outstanding films from the business, non-profit, media and creative sectors that inspire audiences with real-world solutions for a more sustainable future. This is in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Video Volunteers adapted its working style to the new challenges that the pandemic threw at it. Our Community Correspondents quickly learned the new working style and reported on the on-ground situation of those returning to their native places in light of extended lockdowns. Video Volunteers Community Correspondents also identified communities with a dearth of ration and other essential supplies and distributed them with the same.

tve (Television for the Environment) is a UK-registered charity founded by the United Nations Environment Programme, WWF-UK, and Central Television (now part of ITV) in 1984. tve works with filmmakers and partners worldwide to run media projects, make films and work to promote effective, evidence-based storytelling about environmental issues through film.
